The Alley Vipers are an elite contingent of ruthless marauders and true masters of brutality. Despite their destructive powers and feared reputations, Cobra was dissatisfied with the original 1989 deployments and outfitted a new breed of Alley Vipers. Extensive physical and terrorist training programs are standard for these vicious Vipers and they soon become skilled villains.
Like most Alley Viper deployments since 1993, "Battle Corps" Alley Vipers were outfitted with the standardized Cobra communications watch, Cobra laser-proof shield, high-bore bullet-proof body armor suit and vest, special blast-proof trooper helmet with adjustable visor, and special issue Cobra street boots.
The exception to this were the individualized 1993-1994 deployments of
Alley Vipers utilizing standardized equipment from
Crimson Guard Immortals and
Iron Grenadier
T.A.R.G.A.T.s. The 1993 deployments also featured urban camouflage, unlike the later 1994 Alley Viper deployments. With Cobra's resurrection in 1997, Cobra began to make cut-backs for the standard uniforms of its soldiers and Alley Vipers no longer deploy with the special issue Cobra street boots. This cutback has been maintained up through the 2004 Strike Team - Urban Division Alley Viper deployments.
