Crimson Guard Immortals are fanatical super soldiers who swear a fearsome oath of absolute obedience to
Cobra Commander. Advanced weapon systems marksmen and martial arts experts, they are the most formidable fighters in the Cobra Legions. The Crimson Guard Immortal is made up of well-known dignitaries and diplomats from around the world. A "Seigie" (CG), when not serving as a personal bodyguard to Cobra Commander, is a well-educated, affluent, high-ranking official involved in covert operations around their country under deep cover, assuming an apparently normal occupation and frequently running for public office.
Crimson Guard Immortals are licensed to operate all Cobra land and air vehicles, including the Crimson Attack Tank II ("Cat-2").
Crimson Guard Immortals have had confirmed deployments in Canada, Europe, India (2001), and the United States.
In 1993
and 1994, Cobra dispatched specially recruited Aero-Vipers,
Alley Vipers, B.A.T.s,
Crimson Guards, Eels,
Night Creepers, and Officers that utilized the Crimson Guard Immortal helmet and
Iron Grenadier T.A.R.G.A.T. uniform as part of their equipment. These troopers were given individual code names despite their standardized uniforms.
With the 2001 India-based Crimson Guard Immortals, the uniform colors were changed. Crimson Guard Immortals now wore silver gloves and had a gold crest on their helmets to indicate their deployment. Their combat equipment remained the same however.
In 2003, the Crimson Guard Immortal returned to regular service in the United States with a new, non-crimson uniform as the main operator of the
Cobra Cat-2. The significance of the uniform appears to be related to an official position as vehicle operators for the Cat-2.
