Iron Grenadier forces–though numerically inferior to Cobra–are better trained, better equipped, and enjoy the benefits of better qualified leadership.  The Razorback is the principal front-line assault vehicle for the Iron Grenadiers, epitomizing the organization's state-of-the-art technology and philosophy.  Its impressive firepower capabilities can totally destroy an enemy vehicle within minutes.  For this reason, Destro only permits the "créme de la créme" to be admitted into the Razorback program.  The Wild Boars are formidable opponents on the battlefield because they embody the most fearsome of attributes–the will to succeed.

The new recruits have three things in common when enrolled.  They are at peak physical fitness, are all combat experienced in armored warfare, and are all fanatical believers in the Iron Grenadier ideology.  Once chosen, the cadet Wild Boars begin a tortuous training schedule that involves a variety of mental and physical courses that stresses discipline, discipline, and more discipline.  By the time they graduate from training school, the Wild Boars have become proficient in working in the most appalling field conditions on their Razorbacks.  They are expected to understand all aspects of the vehicle's mechanics and technology; they must be able to carry out maintenance and effect repairs to battle damage with the minimum of assistance.  They will be as well versed as possible in nuclear, biological, chemical, and electronic warfare, and will be familiar with all aspects of the air/land battle.  They will know all manner of evasion and deception techniques to help them escape anti-tank aircraft and missiles, and will have been instilled with the will to succeed.  With graduation also comes the opportunity to receive shares of stock in Destro's lucrative profit-sharing plan, as well as gaining the respect of being a Razorback driver.  This they really deserve as the mortality rate among Wild Boar cadets is said to be as high as any branch in the Iron Grenadier armed forces.

Wild Boar deployments were seen in the United States and Canada in 1989.  In their 1991 through 1997 European deployments, Wild Boars had their code names shortened to "Farouche", which is French for "wild".  To help raise funds for Destro's investment in Cobra's 1997 resurrection, the design of the Wild Boar uniform was sold to the organization known as the Bronze Bombers and re-colored for their member Suppressor X.  To date, the Wild Boars have not yet been given an updated deployment with a new uniform.
