EXPECTED ARMAMENT:
|
Steel Brigade Troopers carry a combat knife, a hand-to-hand combat, .78 caliber pistol, personnel nullification smoke grenades, a quick-flick, "Stinger" ankle dagger, and a semi-automatic commando rifle. |
The Steel Brigade Paratroopers are members of the G.I. Joe Team's international Security Force. They can quickly provide regional stability to "hot spots" throughout the world without drawing the attention that the visible presence of the regular G.I. Joe team would. Each Steel Brigade combat team functions as a reconnaissance, intelligence, surveillance, and target acquisition squadron. The entire sub-team is comprised of specially talented and highly trained individuals, both military and civilian, some of whom distinguish themselves sufficiently enough to later be chosen to join the G.I. Joe Team full time.
The Steel Brigade Paratrooper helmet has a built-in oxygen mask and communications system that allows each soldier to be tied into a tactical local-area network with their Steel Brigade Commander. The visor has optical display screens with a heads-up
targeting sight along with night vision and infrared heat source sensors. Steel Brigade Paratroopers are also equipped an all-purpose, multi-grenade bandolier and anti-dehydration canister.
From
intelligence gatherings: "Destro (an international arms dealer) is always expanding his M.A.R.S. (Military Armaments Research Systems) Corporation to create new weapons factories all around the world. He has set his sights on several secret industrial complexes in the former Soviet Union and is using his inside man (General Mayhem, a former Spetsnaz officer and brilliant strategist), to execute his plan. With his new Iron Grenadiers and elite brigade of
Iron Anvil Paratroopers led by Metal Head, Destro’s forces have invaded a former Soviet Bloc toy factory and plan to ship weapons systems under the toy brand of Destr-uct-o Blocs. Under this cover, they believe that they will be able to distribute their products globally, unnoticed by the western world."
