Gristle carries a bowie knife in leg sheath, combat knife, missile blasting Tracker gun, MSG-90 rifle, throwing knife in a wrist sheath, two buck knives in sheaths, and XL-14 machine gun with infrared sight.

When you think of grease, slime, dirt, disorder, uproar, and chaos, you are basically thinking about Gristle. Improvising and insensitive, he feels a special pleasure in destroying, undoing, and spoiling everything. Not only is he a corrupt crime boss, his personal hygiene is absolutely disgusting. During the months he spent training to be in the Headhunters, he didn't bother to shower once. Since he was big and bad, he became the right-hand man to some major crime lords who operated illegal warehouses disguised as legitimate comedy clubs. Eventually Gristle started his own criminal activities and then joined up with the Evil Headhunters, but even they admit he's just too grungy to deal with. Also, no one ever contradicts him because no one knows what what would be his reaction.
Gristle is easily recognized by his blood-shot eyes, or by the "Bloodshot" eye shades he uses to shield them from the daylight. Gristle's uniform is a rip-proof, all leather street suit and features all-leather biker boots, dual, side arm ammo pouches, and a remote, phone message beeper.
In 1995, when Cobra was disbanded and remnants were deployed to South America, Gristle was recruited into Cobra as part of Forēa Bruta under the code name Vāndalo. There he was an operator for the Parasite armored personnel carrier.
