Snake Eyes, like Firefly doesn't look like he comes with a whole lot on the surface. Essentially one gun that shoots missiles, a sword, not much else going on...but when you break it down, he actually has a lot of very cool gear which really makes this figure great.

Of course the central weapon in this Snake Eyes set is the heavy machine gun/missile launcher. While the design is a lot more futuristic than some of the Sigma 6 guns, it still has a real element of coolness to it, especially the little touches like the handle on the side and the "bipod" type thing that swings down near the front.

The main feature of this gun is the "sideways shooting" action, which a lot of fans have been bemoaning as unrealistic, not realizing that there actually is a gun on the market that does what this gun does. Ironically enough, the "Corner Shot" as it's called is produced by an Israeli company, and Snake Eyes has been quite fond of Isreali weapons in past versions of the character. I think it's quite cool how Hasbro was able to make this gun modular like this, and still make the missile launchable, even from the "turned" position!

The flat out coolest accessory that this version of Snake Eyes comes with, though, is actually a pretty small item. His Night Vision Goggles slide right on over his head, and look absolutely amazing. I love the way these simple little specs really improve the overall look of the figure. They're perfect! The goggle portion even rotates upwards out of view when not being used.

This Night Ops Snake Eyes comes with his trusty Tonfa Sword, too, but this one is slightly modified. Instead of the "nightstick" like flip-up handle, this sword comes with a hidden mini-blade that slides easily out of the bottom of the handle. It's a sweet little feature that helps separate this sword from the others. Unfortunately this slide-out blade does affect the flip-up handle that I love so much, and it does hinder the interactivity of this sword and the other ninja weapons Snake Eyes and Kamakura come with, but the feature is still really neat.

Other little things compliment this guy perfectly as well, such as his smoke grenades and mini-whipstar, all of which have plugs to hook into the various ports on his body.

Lastly, his rubberized web gear and grappling hook close out the accessory compliment. They're both simple, yet very functional. The hook swings open and has the same hole on the bottom that many of the ninja weapons do, to add that little bit of interaction to what could otherwise be a simple grappling hook. My only real issue is that Snake Eyes doesn't really have a place to store the hook, and it's a pretty large, combersome item. On the other hand, the webgear has an excellent sheath that his tonfa sword slides easily into, which is very neat.

With all of his gear on him, even though this version of Snake Eyes is just another version of Snake Eyes, he ends up looking very cool and different. Even for a soldier figure, he's got a nice amount of gear, and I like this figure quite a bit. I think folks looking for a cheaper version of the venerable Sigma 6 Commando might find some use in this version.
