Being a Commando series, these figures are built around their large array of accessories that they come with. While both the Storm Shadow figure and his accessories are a total repaint, with no retooling, they are still a nice allotment of weapons and gear that make sense for the character and make this figure an all right value.

Hasbro's really gone crazy with the mixing and matching for this figure, but the accessories all make sense. I also like the way they've combined some infiltration gear from a couple of different figures to work with this one.

Storm Shadow comes with a couple of different bladed weapons, the sword and sheath from his first version, and the twin laser blades from the Ninja BAT. Like with the BAT, these blades can be used separately or together. The only issue is that the laser blade handles are too small for this new figure's hands. Storm Shadow's hands are over-stylized in an anime like form, and that unfortunately makes them larger and they don't really work holding the laser swords.

Storm Shadow also comes with his familiar nunchuks w/ flip-out blades, and a ball and chain configuration. I do wish he had some sort of mace as well, like Kamakura came with, but instead we just have the chain connected to twin spiked balls. Really I don't mind that congfiguration, and you can always use them to work with the Kamakura weapons as well. Not a bad couple of weapons, even if they have been used in the past.

The COBRA Ninja is also equipped here with the foot-claws and grappling hook from his original version, and the suction cups from the first Snake Eyes, colored in red to match the evil ninja. This gear all works well together and it suits Storm Shadow nearly perfectly.

Also originally coming with Kamakura is this elaborate bola launcher. Spring loaded and intricately designed, the launcher is actually kind of fun, even if it doesn't have a lot of uses. If they were going to give Storm Shadow a spring-loaded weapon, this one works to a certain extent, and it looks pretty neat in the red and black.

No new parts, nothing retooled, just some different paint and allotments. While this figure and the accessories he comes with are far from an essential purchase, they are a pretty decent value, and I still think mixing this Storm Shadow with the original gives you the perfect animated rendition of the COBRA ninja. He's bottom of the barrel for this wave, but is not a terrible figure with terrible gear by any means.
