Issue #2

Featured Characters:

Spirit and Zartan are the two main characters, but there are also brief cameos by Scarlett, Hi-Tech, Heavy Duty, Tunnel Rat, and the R.O.C.C.

Issue Synopsis:

Spirit has some vacation time, so he travels to his old reservation to see his family, and is surprised by a large "Welcome Home" party being given in his honor. He goes with the flow, tolerating inquisitive relatives, interested town members, and even a somewhat rude cousin of his, J-Dogg. While Spirit shoots some arrows with his Uncle Mike, someone reports a mysterious robbery. The Navajo "Klesh Staff" has been stolen from the town. Spirit realizes "Klesh" means "Snake" and immediately thinks COBRA may be behind this.

Spirit starts tracking the potential culprit and realizes shortly that the thief is most likely still in the small town, so he gathers everyone together and tests them with some English-to-Navajo translation. Almost immediately, someone fails the test, and he darts off, suddenly transforming into Zartan! Zartan has the staff and he leaps into a Dune Buggy and takes off. Spirit radios Hi-Tech, and changes into his Sigma Suit. After being informed by Hi-Tech that the suit "boosts your neuromuscular responses dramatically" and that he can run four or five times as fast as normal, Spirit decides to take off after Zartan on foot.

As Zartan wheels his dune buggy through a mountain pass, Spirit takes a shortcut, lands on a plateau, and lets fly with an explosive arrow, destroying the dune buggy and sending Zartan scrambling. The fight fiercely, until Spirit's cousin J-Dogg, in an attempt to help, slams into Zartan with his motorbike...but it only serves to disrupt the battle long enough for Zartan to retrieve a firearm and shoot at J-Dogg with it. Spirit throws himself in it's path and takes the shot. The Sigma Suit prevents it from being life-threatening, but Zartan vanishes into thin air. Spirit easily tracks his movements, however, and drops him with an electric stun-arrow.

Spirit delivers Zartan to Tunnel Rat and Heavy Duty, who take him prisoner, and Spirit has recovered the Klesh Staff for his people.

Points of Interest:

- This story seems to have no bearing on the story before it and no real ties to a "series".

- According to Hi-Tech and Spirit, it would appear that the Sigma Suits provide some sort of limited "super powers". It's already been revealed that they deflect laser blasts, and in this issue, apparently they give the user super speed as well.

- Zartan reveals in this issue that he has been "trained by the finest martial arts masters in the world"...

- Like issue #1, Tunnel Rat and Heavy Duty appear here in their older non-Sigma 6 style uniforms
