Hasbro Q & A round 4 ANSWERS!

Postby Leonardo T Dragon » Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:29 pm

"Will the black timber variant of snake eyes continue to ship in wave 2 and/or 3? I was under the impression that there was supposed to be a 50/50 split between the white and black timbers, but this hasn't seemed to be the case."
While we cannot give out ratio information, the black wolf is less common than the white. We are planning on continuing to produce both color wolves in future waves.

"What is the status of funskool molds retrieved from India?(damaged beyond repair, ready to use, needs cleaning, lost, etc.)"
While we can't give too many specifics, Hasbro is doing its best to find and preserve old G.I. Joe tools.

"When you re-release boxed pack figures as singles, will there be differences so we know they're different? (IE- Color changes, new sculpted details, etc)"
No, we are re-releasing the 5 packs figures as is because this is what we heard from the fans.

"Is it possible that we will be getting anything other than toys to celebrate the 25th Anniversary? (t-shirts, posters, books, etc.)"
Hold tight until the movie and hopefully you will have your hands full.

"It was discussed at the convention that the 25th anniversary figures will be switching to a new lower mid-torso joint. Any idea as to when we'll see this change implemented?"
Look for this change in wave 1 2008.
"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Seriously, sometime this is so freaking pointless. They also go to different sites and answer the SAME 5 questions. There should be a rule against that.

WHAT!!?! What the hell? Why? I love the Upper chest ball Joint why on earth change that? Now the uniformed aesthetic of the figures will be gone... please tell me I am reading this wrong and they are not going to do away with the upper chest joint!

What Hasbro needs to do is fix the crappy articulation in the legs and arms... leave my upper chest joint alone!!!

"When you re-release boxed pack figures as singles, will there be differences so we know they're different? (IE- Color changes, new sculpted details, etc)"
No, we are re-releasing the 5 packs figures as is because this is what we heard from the fans.

Thanks for clearing that up... if they fix the crotches on the 5 pack figures when they reissue them as singles I will be ecstatic!!!! However the way they answered the question made it sound like they were not going too and that news just ticked me off we deserve better! Especially when they are going to produce vehicles because the vehicles are pretty useless with out the ability to sit.

The question about the black timber made me happy and was probably the only one they answered straight forward.

Did any other sites get theirs yet?
Im interested to see if there were any Sigma Six questions.
Would have liked to have known if there would have been any 8'' plans as HTS exclusives.... maybe next round.

Is it just me, or did Hasbro really put minimal effort forward on the answers this week?

It's like they were all answered by the office intern 15 minutes before he got to leave for the day.

I mean, at least when they do the Star Wars Q&A's, they usually answer in complete sentences.

Actually, if you look at the last link on that list o' sites that Leo kindly provided, Hasbro says the single-packs will be "exactly the same" as the 5-pack versions. The question asked was whether the articulation and joint problems would be fixed.

So by those indications, the single-packed figures from the 5-pack will still be as crippled as their initial release.

The good news of course, is that it means there's virtually no reason whatsoever to buy them if you have the original 5-packs (with the possible exception of the Cobra Air Trooper, who may end up the only hot seller in the wave). Mark my words, this wave will become the "Saga Legends" of the 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe figures (Star Wars collectors will know what I'm talking about).

I don't know... these answers are a LOT more informative than the last round, right before the Con when every answer was "We'll have more information at the Con!!!"

Why can't they give specifics? It's a toy line, not national security fer cryin' out loud.

Maybe they can't give specifics because they don't have specifics. At least they're making an effort to preserve the vintage stuff.

I would guess it's because they are in the process of cataloguing the different molds, assessing damage, which ones are recoverable, which ones aren't.

Heaven forbid they say they have a certain mold only to find it unusable. Fans would have a fit and blame Hasbro for ruining their childhood memories.
