DESCRIPTION:

The F.A.N.G. II was a twin, tilt wing jet engine VTOL aircraft with a front chin gun and loaded with missile armaments.  Cobra classified it as a gyrocopter after the F.A.N.G. incarnation, but the F.A.N.G. II was technically a plane.

Despite the fact that the original F.A.N.G. was still actively deployed as late as 1991 and 1992 with "Cobra Patrol Units" in the Arctic, it is presumed that the F.A.N.G. II was an effective combat aircraft for Cobra.  This presumption is supported by the fact that a new F.A.N.G. designation was not deployed for ten years during active Cobra operations and Cobra only deployed the F.A.N.G. III in 2002, a full five years after Cobra's resurrection.
