Those C.L.A.W.S. designated with red uniforms with black accents can carry any combination of an Enfield L85A1, harness supported F.A.N.G. bazooka with active heat vents and an infra-red suppressor, sub-machine gun, and knife.

     Beginning in 2002, C.L.A.W.S. were Cobra's newest elite troops.  These lightly armored heavy weapons specialists can take a lot of punishment and dish out even more.  With new lightweight, ionized fiber armor (developed from stolen US Army technology), they can move quickly into position with the latest weapons, to take out large targets – including vehicles.  Initially, Cobra grunts competed against each other to get into this new squad, but only the best and nastiest were chosen.

     After the initial C.L.A.W.S. deployments, Cobra began a second deployment with alternative uniform colors.  In the third quarter of 2002, C.L.A.W.S. were deployed as F.A.N.G. III pilots.  In late 2002, a fourth deployment of C.L.A.W.S. with a fourth uniform coloration was completed.  Cobra did not deploy more C.L.A.W.S. until 2004, where they were once again infantry in addition to operating Venom Striker assault vehicles.
