Unlike the Black Dragon Leader and Black Dragon Troopers, Black Dragon Ninjas are dedicated martial artists, having perfected their art after generations. They were recruited in secret, trained endlessly, and if they do not measure up to the organization’s exacting standards, they are never heard from again. In addition to basic spy skills, they also develop specific expertise based on their natural abilities and their Supreme Leader’s needs, be it counter-intelligence, sabotage, infiltration, demolition, surveillance, subterfuge, interrogation, or even personal bodyguards.
Masters of virtually all small arms and explosives known, as well as many martial arts disciplines, they have been taught to use any item they can get their hands on as a weapon. They follow orders with ruthless efficiency out of sheer dedication to the Black Dragon organization. Whatever techniques the Black Dragon Leader uses to enforce his will, they cannot be bribed, brainwashed, or broken. They complete their missions at all costs, and are willing to obey their contracted employer’s orders as well – for as long as their true leader tells them to.
It is not uncommon for the Black Dragon organization to contract out its members to other paramilitary organizations for short periods of time. It is known that some Black Dragon Ninjas are currently contracted under Cobra's command.
The uniform of the Black
Dragon Ninja bears close resemblance to Storm Shadow's original garb in 1984, but the coloring more closely matches the
Argentinean Cobra operative, Ninja-Ku. While this has lead to speculation that Ninja-Ku may have been a Black Dragon operative, this assumption cannot be verified. What is confirmed is that Black Dragon Ninjas were dispatched in 2004 and 2005 across the United States. The 2005 deployment of Black Dragon Ninjas appear to be larger, taller, and more muscular than the 2004 deployment. Again, with only speculation available, it is possible that Black Dragon is using some from of chemical therapy or extreme physical training to augment its troopers.
