At the dawn of the 21st century, the modern battlefield has evolved into a proving ground for the most sophisticated electronic technology available to mankind. Digital warfare is fast becoming the norm, with intelligent recognition and targeting software already in development.
Despite this, the most intelligent combat system utilised in the theatre of war will always remain the human soldier. No artificial construct will ever possess the extraordinary observational and processing skills available to the men & women on the ground.
That is why it is vital; even today, that material be produced to allow the soldier to quickly distinguish friend from foe in the heat of a battle, thus avoiding confusion and potential tragedy.
The following data files are uploaded to the 'JOE COM' of all new G.I. Joe recruits to allow them to familiarize themselves with the various divisions and subgroups that make up the enemy they will face in the 'real world'.
Specifically noted will be any variations to the same uniform that may indicate any different function or rank within a given unit. Items such as small arms and portable equipment (backpacks etc.) will eventually be dealt with in other sections and are not illustrated here.
